Belief: HausAngeles was founded on a belief that the best businesses are those that solve real problems, and that it is possible to ‘do good’ and ‘do all right’ at the same time. As our  co-founder Ray Mathoda put it: “I grew up in pre-capitalist India and feel strongly – based on my experience in pre and post capitalism India – that capitalism is the most effective available system to create change and maximize the size of the total economic pie. The one major flaw of capitalism is that it creates tremendous financial inequality….so the key to having a healthy capitalistic society is to ensure the system is set up to help those at the lower rungs of society gain opportunity and live a safe, decent and respectful life”.

Benchmark: Many religious traditions around the world share the concepts of giving back to the community, and several religions including Christianity, Judaism and Sikhism set the standard at 10% of earnings.

Our Commitment: Consistent with these belief systems, HausAngeles has committed to reinvesting 10 to 20% of its paycheck from every real estate transaction back into our Los Angeles community.
